Catch Up!

Our camera is broken still and so it takes so much more motivation for me to blog now...we pretty much have to take pics with our phone and then e-mail them to myself and then save them to the computer etc. etc. so it's super annoying. But here are some things that have been happening! :) p.s. We just got back from a trip to Oregon and go to stay with fam for a week--it was way fun and I'll post some pics soon!

JoLynn and I braved a shopping trip to the Sacramento Downtown mall and by the end we sorta regretted it! haha no it was way fun, but the girls are so crazy active now...here is a picture of us trying to have lunch at Johnny Rockets and as you can see, Savannah is enjoying sorting the sugar and Bailey has destroyed the nicely stacked straw tower.

but here they are on the trip home...:) babies are so precious when they sleep!

Some things Bailey loves...

EATING--she's such a good eater and will eat anything and everything--in large quantities. It's so cute because she uses a little spoon and fork now all by herself!

MY KEYS--yep she always finds them and carries them off. She also has figured out how to push the lock/alarm button and pushes it over and over to hear the car alarm sound.

ANIMALS--dogs, cats, birds, she loves them all. The campus has its livstock center near Chris' lab and so we visit the cows a lot. She also loves the zoo--we were just there on Saturday and she got to ride on Daddy's shoulders for a good view:)

READING--we have to go to the library weekly if not more often. She can't get enough of board books...or any book! She steals the Book of Mormom from Chris when we read together and tries to read it!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Yay! So Chris and I got to go to our first baseball game for the season. The sacramento Rivercats are just 10/15 minutes away! So we got someone to come over to watch Bailey (thanks Heidi & Justin--you're amazing!), put on our ball caps, packed some blankets (it gets a little chilly at night still) and headed out. It was a fun game to watch--especially with hotdogs, hot cocoa, and cuddling on our blanket. And by the way, lawn seating is awesome at night, cause you can still see really well and yet you can lay down and cuddle in the blankets while you watch! It was so fun and the rivercats won by a run and they had fireworks at the end. HOORAY for baseball season and DATES with my sexy hubby;) oh and HOORAY for BAiley being officially WEANED! I admit that I didn't think I would nurse so long, but I think I was the one who had more trouble letting go than Bailey. She did just fine--it kinda just happened since it was done really gradually. She was down to only the bedtime feeding and morning feeding for a few months, but now she's done--yay for freedom--but BOO for having small boobs again:( well you can't have it all...

Easter

So as you know, our camera is still broken...so some of these pictures aren't very good since they are from our phones. I don't feel like writing details today so the pictures can explain the great weekend:) Special thanks to Jolynn for taking pics with her own camera and then sending them to me!! :)

It was a really fun ward picnic and easter egg hunt. Bailey did so well collecting the eggs and putting them in her little basket!

"I know I dropped a jelly bean around here somewhere..."

Trying to dig out the goodies!

Easter Sunday--this cute dress and trenchcoat were birthday gifts from her nana last month:)

The Joys & Pains of Motherhood

Well, the camera is officially broken--which is a huge bummer when you have a child and want to capture all the special moments...especially since they grow up so fast! But it's getting repaired, but who knows how long or if we may just have to get a new one. Another bummer is that we were going to go to Medford to see Brittany's (chris' sister) brand new baby--but after going over finances for this month...well it's not going to happen so maybe next month. We'll just spend a nice quiet and fun easter here in Davis and see the baby in May. We've had some unexpected expenses this month so our budget is pretty much already used up and it's only the first week of the month. LOL But the good news is we got new phones! Our contract expired this month so we renewed it and got new phones, but we had to pay a lot up front and are now waiting for the rebates...and who knows how long that takes. But we got a really good deal on them so that made me happy. And now Bailey can officially have my old pink razor that she always played with (and I'm super shocked it never broke). So all in all this past week was good and I really enjoyed the parts of General Conference I got to hear (it's pretty much impossible to hear it all with a baby...but thank goodness for the ensign.) There are times I love being a mom and times I absolutely HATE it. Today was one of those days thatI totally hated it. Bailey had her 12 month check up today and she had to have 4 shots PLUS a TB shot in the arm. It was NOT fun and poor Bailey was already scarred from the doctor last week when she had to get her ear checked from a previous ear infection. The doctor and a nurse had to hold her down so they could get a good look and she SCREAMED and was so scared. So when we went in today, she had remembered and immediately started crying and clinging to my shoulder when I tried to put her on the examination table. It was so awful. I had to hold her down and loko into those hysterical, crying eyes, and hold down her writhing little body that tensed up during every shot. It was torture--AND there was only one nurse so she had to do each shot seperately. It was so terrible and I hated being a mom during that moment. It's always so sad when your child gets hurt and or has to go through some trauma like that--and it's not like they understand it when you say" it's ok, honey, this is for your own good." they just see that they are hurting and you are just sitting there holding them down and not helping or responding when they are screaming for you to make them stop. Sorry, this sounds so emotional, but this time was so hard for me and I'm still feeling like such a terrible mom! I've never cried before when she's had shots but I sure bawled this time. And I nursed her afterwards right there in the lobby and I don't care who saw or that she's about 13 months old--I enjoyed every moment! Here are a couple videos I got off the camera before it broke. They're a couple weeks old from March. One has Bailey throwing balloons over her head (she LOVES balloons so we keep some around the house for her to play with). The other is her with a musical card she got for her birthday. She still to this day plays with it and carries it around dancing to the music--it's really cute.

Spring Break--"Cunningham Style"

So this year for spring break we wanted to just kind of hang out and relax and do things in the area. We did this for two reasons. One--we didnt have a lot of money to go anywhere cool anyways, and two--we visit our fam in Oregon a lot and just saw everyone when they came for Bailey's b-day a couple weeks ago. So we stayed here and actually had a lot of fun getting to do things around Davis.:) Here are the pictures!!!

We went to the Jelly Belly factory in fairfield one day...

Yeah we're kinda immature...

My family spent most of their spring break in San Fran and they got us a hotel room for one night so we were able to drive up and spend two days and a night with them having fun in the city! We got city passes and were able to ride on the trolleys and go to the Exploritorium, wharf, Ghiradelli Square, the Aquarium, and we also took a ferry out to Alcatraz and got to tour it! It was so much fun--thanks mom and dad for letting us tag along!!

Funny story...Chris woke up during the middle of the night with a horrible headache that would not go away. It was just killing him, so I got up and went down to the hotel lobby to ask for some tylenol. Well of course they can't give you any cause it's against the law so he pointed me in the direction of a 7-11 a few blocks away. So at 3:00 in the morning I set off down the street (in San Francisco) in my pj's and BARE feet to go get him some tylenol(Chris didn't know this...I just left). I was either way stupid or still half asleep (I think it was the latter). If anyone was thinking of kidnapping me they probably thought twice about it because I probably looked schizofrenic (sp?) or mental walking along with my disarrayed sleep hair, in pj's with no shoes and muttering to myself about how tired I was...but anyways, Chris was very appreciative, but a little mad too:)

We got to spend a lot of time relaxing, swimming, and enjoying the outdoors here in quiet Davis. The weather has been awesome! (in the lower to upper 70's!)

Family, Chuck E Cheese, & A Surprise!

This weekend was FULL of fun! Both Chris' and my own family all came down from Medford, Oregon to spend the weekend celebrating Bailey's Birthday. They came down Friday night and then next morning we went to Chuck E Cheese and let me tell you--Bailey wore out her pointing finger and little legs toddling around the place screaming with joy! She had so much fun (and all the adults did too!) It was fun for everyone to have tokens and play the games and win tickets like the old days:) They had a special birthday presentation where Chuck E came out and sang and danced with Bailey. They ahd a bouquet of balloons and 100 tickets for the birthday girl. She was so excited and thoroughly enjoyed her cupcake and pizza. I totally recommend when your child walks to take them to Chuck E Cheese! It was so cute and she had so much fun in the toddler area and just walking around. (It really wears them out too!)

Then we opened presents and Bailey got so spoiled...
Some cute clothes from Nana & Papa

A cute princess couch (she's sitting on it) from Grammy & Grampa--plus this cute musical card that played the "Itsy-Bitsy Spider"--she carried it around the house all weekend opening and closing it and dancing!

and hmmmm what have we here...

a beautiful painting/photograph and poem from her GM Shayli:)

Then after going to Old town Sacramento...this was Bailey--

And THEN that same night Chris had a big suprise Birthday party for me! My Birthday isn's until this Thursday but since everyone was in town he sent me shopping with my mom and when I got home he had made a special dinner, and cake for me! Everyone helped out and it was so fun! I got some cute clothes and jewelry and Chris got me tickets to see "The Lion King" broadway musical that is coming to Sacramento this summer!!! Thank you everyone!!

"The After Party"--
Wow, by Sunday we were all exhausted. We went to church and had a good old relaxing day:) What a great weekend--thank you everyone for coming and making our birthdays so special! Love you all! And we missed you Brittany (who is 9 months pregnant), Camilla (who is in China teaching English), and David (who is at pilot school in Utah)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAILEY!

I can't believe that a year has already gone by. People always tell you that it goes by so fast and you kinda say, "uh yeah" but you're baby is screaming and you've been up multiple times a night and almost out of patience and you're thinking "yeah right it's not going by fast enough!" LOL but I can say now that it really does and they change so much in such a short space of time too. I am so grateful for our little BAiley and even though she's officially a TODDLER now, she will always be my little baby Bailers:) We love you BAiley--HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A Year Flown By...(click on pic for a caption)

We are doing the real celebrating this weekend when the family comes down, but Chris and I presented our gift to her today:) (a little table and chairs)oh! and she got her first cupcake...

p.s. I frickin' broke my toe yesterday evening before dinner and anyone who thinks that breaking a toe isn't that bad is so wrong...it HURTS SO bad! but some tylenol, ice, rest (thanks to chris for doing everything yesterday) and a crude tape up job seem to help:)
